India is preparing to deepen economic ties with Oman as the much-anticipated Free Trade Agreement between the two countries is scheduled to come into effect from June 1. The agreement is expected to significantly improve market access for Indian exporters while strengthening trade cooperation between the two nations.
Under the pact, Indian industries such as machinery, textiles, chemicals, and food products are likely to benefit from expanded opportunities in the Omani market. According to Trade experts, the new bilateral trade agreement comes at an important time as global markets continue to face geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, and economic uncertainty. By improving trade relations, both countries aim to create more stable and diversified economic partnerships.

Analysts say the India-Oman trade partnership could open fresh opportunities for businesses, exporters, and manufacturers looking to expand in the Gulf region. Currently, bilateral trade between India and Oman already exceeds $10 billion annually, reflecting strong economic engagement between the two countries. The implementation of the agreement could further accelerate trade volumes and investment flows in the coming years. Moreover, Experts said that the economic cooperation agreement may encourage greater collaboration in sectors such as logistics, infrastructure, energy, and food security. Generally, the upcoming trade pact signals a major step toward strengthening regional trade integration and enhancing long-term economic cooperation between India and Oman.
