“Swadeshi Growth Push Gains Momentum”, says Piyush Goyal
India is accelerating its Swadeshi growth strategy with an ambitious plan to achieve $2 trillion in exports over the next five years. The government is strengthening its Atmanirbhar Bharat vision to expand domestic manufacturing, support exporters, and improve India’s position in the global trade market.
Speaking at the launch of the Bharat Vyapar Mahotsav platform, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted the importance of local industries, innovation, and export diversification in driving India’s economic expansion. He emphasized that a stronger Swadeshi focus will help Indian businesses become more competitive globally while reducing dependence on imports.
The upcoming trade expo, often being described as a major Swadeshi mela, aims to promote Indian-made products, support import substitution, and create new business opportunities across sectors. Officials believe the initiative will strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem and encourage businesses to expand into international markets.
Experts believe India’s export ambitions are closely linked to the growth of MSMEs, infrastructure development, and stronger global trade partnerships. Increased investments in logistics, digital trade systems, and industrial capacity are expected to support long-term export expansion.
The government’s latest push also aligns with the broader Make in India campaign, which seeks to position the country as a global manufacturing hub. Analysts say stronger export performance could boost employment, attract investments, and improve India’s economic resilience amid uncertain global conditions.
As India intensifies its trade expansion strategy, the Bharat Vyapar Mahotsav is expected to become a key platform connecting domestic industries with global buyers and investors.
