Pakistan Punjab Livestock Export Plan to Ship 1 Million Animals to Boost Meat Trade and Economy

The Pakistan exports: livestock initiative marks a major step by the Punjab government to strengthen its meat trade sector by targeting the export of one million animals. This ambitious plan aims to modernise livestock farming and enhance the province’s global competitiveness in the meat industry.

The government has signed agreements with several partners, including a Chinese meat processing company, to support large-scale export operations. This collaboration is expected to improve processing capacity and ensure compliance with international quality standards.

A key component of the Pakistan exports livestock strategy involves the fattening of hundreds of thousands of animals to increase meat yield and export value. Authorities are also investing in veterinary infrastructure upgrades, ensuring better animal health management and productivity.

To modernise the sector, the plan includes the introduction of agricultural mechanisation, supported by subsidies for farmers. This is expected to reduce labour dependency and improve efficiency across livestock farms.

Additionally, the initiative is designed to strengthen rural livelihoods by distributing livestock and promoting breeding programs among small farmers. This approach aims to increase income opportunities and reduce poverty in rural communities.

Experts believe the Pakistan exports: livestock strategy could significantly boost the country’s meat export earnings while transforming traditional livestock farming into a more organised and export-oriented industry.

Overall, the Pakistan exports: livestock plan represents a long-term effort to expand trade, improve productivity, and position Punjab as a key player in the global meat supply chain.
