Farmers' group expects lower German wheat yields

German farmers fear a fall in wheat yields from the 2010 harvest of between 10 to 15 percent on the year, German farmers' association DBV said on Wednesday. This was marginally better than the association's previous forecast of a 10 to 20 percent drop in yields on July 22.

US wheat tops estimates as world supplies drop

U.S. farmers will harvest a bumper wheat crop this year, the Agriculture Department said on Friday, pegging domestic production beyond what traders had expected as output declined in other major producing nations. The U.S. wheat crop was forecast at 2.216 billion bushels, 2.5 percent above average trade estimates of 2.163 billion bushels. That's up 7 percent from last month's projection and identical to USDA's tally of last year's crop.
