Brazilian and Argentine motorists using soyoil-based biodiesel in their cars could soon be diverting more of the major cooking oil away from the food supply, as Latin America's farming giants try to limit their dependence on oil. Latin America's main soy producers, Brazil and Argentina, could soon double their national biodiesel programs. Such a step would divert at least 13 percent of the world's soybeans to be crushed into oil and meal at home.
